Former NFL star tight end Rob Gronkowski surprised many with his prediction for the Super Bowl 58 winner. Instead of selecting one of his former teams, the New England Patriots or Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or one of the heavy favorites like Kansas City, Buffalo, San Francisco, Cincinnati, or Philadelphia, Gronkowski chose the Dallas Cowboys.

During an appearance on FanDuel's "Up & Adams" program with Kay Adams, the four-time Super Bowl champion explained his choice. "I'm going to go with the Dallas Cowboys," he said. "They added Brandin Cooks at the wide receiver position, who I think will be a great complement to CeeDee Lamb. They also added Stephon Gilmore, who was Defensive Player of the Year a couple of years ago. I think he's going to make a great comeback this year and play at a high level."

Gronkowski believes this could be the year the Cowboys finally overcome their playoff struggles. "I feel this is the year they just, you know, get over that edge," he said.

As Gronk noted, the additions of Cooks and Gilmore could be game-changers for a team already boasting a deep roster. The Cowboys have the potential to win a Super Bowl championship on paper, but they need to overcome their postseason hurdles to do so.

Last season, the Cowboys reached the NFC Divisional Round but were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers in a 19-12 defensive battle. Quarterback Dak Prescott had a tough game, throwing for only 206 yards and two interceptions.

Will this be the year the Cowboys come together to claim their sixth Lombardi Trophy? Only time will tell.
