Roschon Johnson may have had a relatively quiet night on the ground during the Bears' 12-10 victory over the Vikings on Monday Night Football. However, the rookie from Chicago left an indelible mark with a single, resounding play. When Minnesota opted to send two defenders blitzing through Chicago's interior offensive line, Johnson, assigned to pass protection, delivered a thunderous block that not only neutralized both Minnesota defenders but also included Pro Bowl safety Harrison Smith among its casualties.

It's one thing to merely engage a defender in pass protection, but it's an entirely different level of impact to completely dismantle an opposing team's blitz strategy in one fell swoop. Yet, that's precisely what Johnson accomplished with his block, affording Justin Fields the opportunity to survey the field in a game where downfield chances were scarce. This electrifying play resonated with Bears fans, who celebrated the moment enthusiastically.

For many Bears fans, there's a growing hope that Johnson may ascend to the role of the team's primary running back. His performance on Monday night, tallying 75 scrimmage yards on 15 touches, certainly makes a compelling case for more opportunities.

However, it's plays like the one described, which don't appear on the stat sheet, that are likely to endear Johnson even further to the coaching staff.
