Simone Biles responds to husband Jonathan Owens' contract agreement with the Bears: 'Chicago holds a special place in my heart'
As Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles gears up for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, her husband, Jonathan Owens, is embarking on a significant journey of his own. After a season as a defensive back with the Green Bay Packers, the 28-year-old safety has inked a two-year deal with one of their prominent NFL rivals, the Chicago Bears.
On March 12, Biles took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to celebrate her husband's achievement with a series of shoutouts, marking his $4.5 million contract. "CHICAGO HERE HE COMES," she exclaimed in her congratulatory message.
Biles and Owens crossed paths during the pandemic in 2020 and officially exchanged vows in April 2023. Despite navigating a long-distance relationship since their honeymoon, they have continuously supported each other's careers. Given their demanding sports schedules, the time they spend together is cherished. However, Biles is optimistic that Owens' relocation to an international airline hub will simplify their travel arrangements.
"I'm so excited about not having a connecting flight to go & see my husband hahahahaaha," she expressed.
Expressing gratitude, Biles extended her thanks to the Packers fans for their unwavering support as they anticipate the next phase in Owens' professional journey.
