Sources: NFL Insiders Believe Panthers Have Decided on QB
After acquiring the first-overall pick from the Chicago Bears in a massive trade, the Carolina Panthers are reportedly eyeing former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud. While the Panthers have not confirmed their pick, sources around the NFL believe that Stroud is their top choice.
To secure the first-overall pick, the Panthers traded away their 9th and 61st overall picks in this year's draft, along with their 2024 first-rounder, their 2025 second-rounder and wide receiver DJ Moore. Despite the steep cost, the Panthers are expected to select a top quarterback prospect in this year's draft.
Reports suggest that the Panthers are open to trading down a few spots if a team is interested in Alabama star Bryce Young. This move could help the Panthers recoup some of their lost draft capital while still securing Stroud.
The Panthers have been searching for a franchise quarterback since parting ways with former NFL MVP Cam Newton, and it seems like they may have finally found their man. However, the draft is still more than a month away, and anything can happen leading up to the event.
