The Chicago Bears aren't exactly having the follow up season they were hoping for after their stellar 2018 season. After being crowned NFC North champs last year, the Bears are squeaking by at 3-2 so far this year in a really tight division race. If the playoffs were to start today, the Bears would just miss out on the second Wild Card spot. It's still early and things could go either way, the Bears could bounce back after the bye and make a run at things, or if they continue on their current pace it'll likely be a downward trend, especially if the OLine keeps playing how it is. Adam Jahns of The Athletic dug up some statistics regarding the OLine and they're not pretty. 29th in rushing first downs (17)
25th in average offensive plays per game (60.2)
31st in average yards from scrimmage per touch (6.1)
30th in total big plays, which are runs or passes of 20 yards or more (15)
22nd in quarterback pressure percentage, which quantifies how many times a QB is sacked, hurried or knocked down (26.8)
Tied for 28th in hurries allowed (28)
What makes matters worse for the OLine is that Charles Leno currently leads the league with eight penalties after five weeks. These aren't exactly stats that will vault the Bears into the playoffs.
