Teven Jenkins' advanced metrics at right guard were nothing short of spectacular!
After Teven Jenkins missed 8 practices a few weeks ago, the Bears decided to try him out at right guard. It looks like it was a success. While Thursday's game was his first time playing the position, Jenkins looks very comfortable. He was one of the most consistent player on the line in the first half.
«I felt like I did good,» Jenkins told NBC Sports Chicago after the Bears' 27-11 win over the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. «It's just, overall, I have some good things, bad things to clean up, and that might be because of my adjustment period going to guard.
«The NFL is about production now. They don't care how long it takes, it needs to happen now. I need to ramp up my process to go from tackle to guard.»
Pro Football Focus seems to also believe Jenkins played solid.
In fact, he had a 82.6 pff grade, and more importantly, he allowed ZERO pressures.
This is extremely encouraging. I clearly thinks Jenkins should be one of the starting lineman this season and he best chances at the moment are playing the guard position.
