Jon Hoke boasts an extensive coaching career spanning 42 years, including 18 seasons in the NFL. He spent the last two seasons as the Falcons' Secondary Coach and returns to the Bears after a successful stint as the club's Defensive Backs Coach from 2009-2014. During this period, the Bears' defense tied for the fourth-most interceptions (111) and led the league in interceptions returns for touchdowns (20). Under Hoke's guidance, Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings of the Bears were selected to four Pro Bowls, with Tillman being named first-team All-Pro and Jennings second-team All-Pro in 2012.
Hoke's coaching journey has taken him through several NFL teams, including the Texans (2002-2008) and Buccaneers (2016-2018), as well as several colleges, including South Carolina (2015), Maryland (2019-2021), and others. He began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Dayton in 1982 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State, where he played as a defensive back and was a four-year letterman.
Zach Cable has five years of coaching experience, including four in the NFL, where he worked as an Offensive/Defensive Assistant for the Raiders (2018-2021). Most recently, Cable worked as the Outside Linebackers Coach at the University of Northern Colorado during the 2022 season. He played defensive line at the University of Idaho, where he was a three-year starter and two-time captain.
Omar Young was promoted to Assistant Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers Coach after a successful first season with the Bears as an Offensive Quality Control Coach in 2022. Young has 14 years of coaching experience, including four in the NFL, and has previously worked with Bears' Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy at the Green Bay Packers from 2017-2018.
The Strength & Conditioning Staff's hires include two familiar faces, as Isaiah Harris served as the club's Strength and Conditioning Seasonal Assistant in 2022, while Pierre Ngo spent the 2015-2020 seasons with the Bears. Harris previously worked for the Bears as the Director of Player Development for seven seasons starting in 2007 and has held various roles in player development and operations with the Vikings and Buccaneers. Ngo returns to the Bears after serving as the Broncos' Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
In football operations, Carla Suber joined the organization in 2020 as the Bears' Team Clinician, becoming one of only six full-time clinicians employed by an NFL team. Mike Wiley spent his first season with the Bears in 2022 as the Director of Player Development and Mental Skills.
