Karen B. Murphy, a longstanding member of the team's business office, has been elevated to the position of Executive Vice President of Stadium Development and Chief Operating Officer, a newly created role.
With 25 years of experience with the Bears, Murphy expressed her enthusiasm for ensuring the team plays in one of the finest stadiums globally.
"I am incredibly honored and excited to lead an operation that has the power to change the trajectory of this storied franchise and how fans experience the game of football in Chicago. I have always loved the game of football and the city of Chicago, and I bring that passion to work every day," Murphy stated. "I have the privilege of continuing my work for a world-class team and alongside Kevin and the rest of the organization, to create and execute on a vision that brings a state-of-the-art stadium and Super Bowls to Chicagoland."
Having played at Soldier Field for over fifty years, the Bears have expressed their desire for a larger, more modern stadium. However, the exact location of this stadium remains uncertain, with the Bears hesitating over the anticipated property tax bill in Arlington Heights, where they purchased a stadium-sized piece of land formerly occupied by a racetrack.
Murphy's responsibilities will include finalizing a stadium project within the Chicago area and overseeing the construction of a top-tier stadium for the Bears.
