After we learned that the Bears had brought in QB Tim Boyle in order to bring depth at the quarterback position, we received a report from Brad Biggs that another player was on his way.

Indeed, he reported that a defensive line that hasn't done much to establish itself in the trenches is getting a new, player: Andrew Brown.

Brown, 26, was a Bengals fifth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He has 23 games (1 start) of experience with the Bengals (2019-20), Texans (2020), and Chargers (2021). The University of Virginia product has alsp spent time with the Colts, Titans, and Cardinals in camp, as a practice squad member, or as someone on a 90-player roster. Brown, who checks in at 6-3 and 290 pounds, has 1.0 sack, 1 tackle-for-loss, and 3 quarterback hits on his résumé. It's not much to write home about, but it is another warm body for the line.

This begs the question about the role that Angelo Blackson might have until the end of the season. He has seen his snaps drop off for the last month, but the last two weeks were drastic. The team inherited from Ryan Pace, they started him, and now they seem to be ready to move on from him. Does Andrew Brown come in fresh off of another team's practice squad and steal snaps from Blackson? Could Blackson be inactive on Sunday?
