The Bears have signed a linebacker!
The Chicago Bears have signed Nicholas Morrow, per Jeremy Fowler. Morrow has been a pretty solid player throughout his career.
He has 29 starts and 254 tackles. He is also a great special teams player and he could provide instant help in 2022 with the Bears. He was signed by the Oakland Raiders in 2017 and has spent 4 years with them. Morrow is 26 years old and he missed the entire 2021 due to a foot injury. All the reports we heard said the foot is now completed healed. Before this injury, he signed a one-year $4.5 million contract with the Las Vegas organization.
In 2020, he appeared in 15 games and he recorded 78 tackles, 3 sacks, a forced fumble and nine pass breakups. While he is not the biggest in size (225 pounds) he is excellent in pass coverage. He is also extremely explosive, he ran a 4,52 40-yard-dash. For instance, Bears' superstar Roquan Smith ran a 4,51!
Besides Roquan Smith, the Bears don't have much depth at the middle linebacker spot. He could have a shot at the starting spot opposing Smith. He should fit Matt Eberflus' scheme to perfection!
