Ever since the appearance of divisions in the NFL, there has been a kind-of unwritten rule that you don't make trades inside the division. However, it seems like the new Vikings' general manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah did not get the memo.

Indeed, during the first two days of the draft, he not only made one trade inside the division, but two trades.

In the first round, the Vikings had the 12th pick and just before going on the clock, they traded back with the Detroit Lions. Here were the full terms of the trade:

Vikings get: Pick 32,, Pick 34, Pick 66

Lions get: Pick 12, Pick 46

While this is not a horrible trade for either side, this helped out the Lions because they were able to select Alabama's superstar WR , Jameson Williams with that pick.

However, Adofo-Mensah was not done. With that 34th pick, he traded back again. This time, it was with the Green Bay Packers. Here were the full terms of the trade:

Vikings get: Pick 53, Pick 59

Packers get: Pick 34

With that 34th pick, the Packers selected WR Christian Watson who was, at the time, clearly the best receiver available. Christian will, presumably act as the #1 receiver for the Packers...By default.

Let's just say that this was a very special draft for the Vikings' new GM so far...
