There are still a lot of talented cornerbacks left in free agency.
The Bears are in need of help at multiple positions all across the roster. One of those is certainly cornerback. While we would like GM Ryan Poles to access this need through the draft, with the limited draft capital in this year's draft, he might have to find other ways. A good way to do that would be to sign a proven veteran cornerback on a short-term deal. This could provide good upside, with very limited risk since the contract would be short. The worst thing that can happen is that the player has a bad year or gets injured. The Bears would be able to let him go and no harm would be done!
Here is a list of players that could potentially fit that build:
Stephon GilmoreJoe HadenSteven NelsonBryce CallahanJanoris JenkinsXavier RhodesA.J. BouyeKevin KingJason VerrettTrae WaynesChris HarrisP.J. WilliamsMackensie AlexanderRobert Alford
I think Haden, Rhodes and Waynes are the names that make the most sense. Again, any one of these players would not change the future in Chicago, but they could be a solid player for this year. They could also help in the development of both Jaylon Johnson and Thomas Graham Jr.
