In fact, there are only two WR currently on the roster that were drafted by the Bears: Darnell Mooney and Dazz Newsome.
Once again, this is not the best look for former Bears GM Ryan Pace...
But, make no mistake about it, Mooney has been excellent. He was a rare steal for the Bears when he was selected in the 5th round of the 2020 NFL draft. He has over 1600 yards in two seasons. He was extremely productive even though he had to endure so many different QB in just two seasons.
As for Newsome, he has been a non-factor in his rookie season.
This begs the question: are the Bears going to fix the position via the draft or free agency.
Even though I would like them to sign a big-name player like Julio Jones or Jarvis Landry, I don't think this would be a wise move. The current free agency WR market is absolutely crazy. A player like Christian Kirk received $22 million per year, for god's sake.
I think GM Ryan Poles has to use AT LEAST one of his 2nd rounder on a WR and maybe even two. This could potentially give Fields a few young WR targets that he could develop in the future with them!
