Things have not been smooth sailing for the New York Giants this offseason. After signing QB Daniel Jones to a 4-year, $160 million deal, Giants fans were excited to see their QB back, and hoping star RB Saquon Barkley also signs again. However, a deal has not been made, and Barkley may sit out for some time.
A source told ESPN's Dianna Russini that if a long-term deal is not finalized, Barkley may be out in week 1, or even longer. After being franchise tagged by the team back in March, Barkley has not seemed too pleased. Barkley expressed his emotions about it last month, by stating:
The 2-time Pro Bowler has until Monday to sign a deal, or else he can not sign until after the season. With Jones getting the big bucks, it looks like Barkley wants more money then what the Giants are offering.
