Tariq Woolen is a cornerback out of UTSA.

First of all, this player has literally all the physical tools. Name a box, he checks it. He is 6"3, 205 pounds and he is lightning fast. At the moment, the expectation is that he will be drafted somewhere between rounds 3 and 5. I think he would be a steal for any team that drafts him.

When you speak to some experts, they all think he has the best shot at running the fastest 40-yard-dash this year. You could expect him to run in the 4.2s maybe.

Another aspect that I love about him is that he makes plays. Of course, you want your cornerback to be fundamentally sound and to be solid in coverage. However, in an ideal world, you want him to be a ball hawk as well. That part is harder to teach. Woolen is a converted receiver and he has amazing hands. In fact, he has only played one season as a cornerback so far.

Woolen's transition to the defense went very nicely, but he is still a raw prospect. He had 61 tackles, five tackles for a loss, and 1.5 sacks, to go along with two interceptions and nine passes defended.

Some of you may think that it is risky to draft a player that enrolled in college as a wide receiver. However, there are multiple examples of great players that made the same switch prior to being drafted. The first ones that come to mind are Richard Sherman, Trevon Diggs and Patrick Peterson.
