The 2013 Bears were a team to remember. One of the things that stood out from that season was the passing attack led by Jay Cutler. Cutler even got hurt, which led backup Josh Mccown to start five games. This sounds like a terrible recipe for receiver production. However, this led to the greatest receiving core in bears history.

Receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery combined for 2716 yards. Marshall was coming off a fantastic 2012 season, where he put up over 1500 receiving yards. In that 2013 season, the eighth-year receiver hauled in 12 touchdown receptions. Jeffery was coming off a quiet rookie season of only 367 yards. His numbers exploded in year two becoming the most productive receiver in that offense. He put up 1421 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. We can also add that Marshall and Jefferey are responsible for 4 of the top 9 receiving seasons in Bears' history including the top 2 seasons on that list.

We all hope the new Bears' receiving core in 2022 will be able to recapture some of the magic that the 2013 squad had.
