Blasingame is actually one of, if not the best player at his position. He is a real, big-time athlete.
While this pickup won't make big headlines, it's a really smart move. Luke Getsy is one of the offensive coordinators that used the most his fullbacks and he will find ways to utilize Blasingame very nicely.
Daniel Greenberg reported a few weeks ago that former Tennessee Titans RB Jeremy McNichols had very extremely great words on Blasingame. He said that the fullback is "a "great player and even a better person! He's going to be an amazing addition to the Bears organization on and off the field.".
I think this signing is a really great one. A powerful fullback like Khari can really help your running game. He may even help the offensive line in the run-blocking schemes. He might become David Montgomery's best friend on the field!
In addition to that, Blasingame is a very good athlete. He's fast, elusive and has great hands.
