As reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a lawsuit filed in Denton County states that the Dallas Cowboys' cornerback signed a one-year lease for a home in Frisco, Texas, and only paid rent for the first month. The landlord, Mary Yadegar, agreed to rent the property to the player for $5,500 per month, but since the first payment, that's all she has received. Diggs moved out in July of last year "in lieu of eviction."
Yadegar is seeking $33,500 in unpaid rent and late fees, as well as $45.45 bi-weekly for yard maintenance, $3,400 for damage repairs, and $531.15 for carpet cleaning due to the carpets being "soiled beyond normal wear and tear."
Diggs earned $1.723 million last season, after being drafted in the second round in 2020. He is set to earn a significant increase next season, with a salary of $4.843 million. It is indeed puzzling that he has not paid his rent, considering he can easily afford to do so.
