A TMZ report now states that the untimely death of the 28-year-old former college football player was the result of an accidental overdose.
As per the overdose report procured from the Florida police by TMZ Sports, it's understood that the police were responding to a call concerning a medical emergency. On arrival, they discovered an unresponsive Lewis III receiving CPR from a friend. Another acquaintance was reported to be fervently calling for Narcan, a drug administered in cases of overdoses.
The report went on to explain that Lewis III was found lying motionless, naked between a bed and a wall. The police attempted to revive him by administering Narcan in his right nostril, but to no avail.
The police also carried out a search in the room where Lewis III was found. A blue pill suspected to be Alprazolam was found near his body, along with a used needle and a small plastic bag tucked inside an empty beer can.
Ray Lewis III had quite a remarkable football career himself, having shown outstanding performance in Florida high school football. He later went on to play for Miami, Coastal Carolina, and Virginia Union.
Ray Lewis has yet to make a public statement concerning the tragic passing of his son.
