It's safe to say that this is not what Tom Brady came back for. A 31-14 blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys in a wild-card round the Tampa Bay Buccaneers barely qualified for and a final record of eight wins and ten losses, counting this one, was not what he had in mind when he ended his short-lived retirement last spring.

It was just the third time in his 23-year career that he lost in the opening round of the postseason.

In his post-game press conference, the greatest football player of all time pretty much hinted that he wouldn't be back with Tampa Bay next year.

"I'm gonna go home and get a good night's sleep -- as good as I can tonight," Brady said, adding that he has no timetable for making a decision. "This has been all I've focused on -- this game. It'll just be one day at a time. Truly."

Here's what Brady had to say in his post-game press conference to reporters, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:

«I just want to say thank you guys for everything this year. I really appreciate all your effort. And I know it's hard for you guys, too. It's hard for us players to make it through, and you guys got a tough job. And I appreciate all that you guys do to cover us and everyone who watches and [is] a big fan of the sport. We're very grateful for everyone's support. And, you know, hopefully, you know, I love this organization. It's a great place to be. I love everyone for welcoming me, all you regulars. And just very grateful for the respect, and I hope I gave the same thing back to you guys. So thank you very much.»
