With this shocking release, Wilson will likely be a top free agent and will get much attention from several teams who are in need of a new QB.
While being interviewed on Kay Adams' show "Up & Adams," former Seahawks star and NFL MVP Shaun Alexander spoke about what he has heard regarding Wilson's landing spot next season, and according to some sources, he heard that Wilson will be on the Falcons:
Wilson started off his career on the Seahawks, and after being named as a 9-time Pro Bowler, an All-Pro, and a Super Bowl champion, he was traded to the Broncos following the 2021 season.
Though his start in Denver began in a disappointing way, he has since been able to improve both his stats and the team's record, almost making it to the playoffs this past season.
Wilson still has a lot left in the tank, and could very well help build a team into a contender.
The Falcons are in need of a new QB, and though there have been rumors regarding the team trading for Bears QB Justin Fields, this Wilson move could make more sense. Wilson is a winner, we know that, and even with age, he has since been able to be consistent, and with the Falcons' young and exciting offense, Wilson could help this team as a mentor and leader.
