Moore brought this up while discussing the possibility of the Denver Nuggets trading picks 21 and 30 to move up to No. 18, which is where Chicago sits. The Bulls could then use that extra first-round pick as trade ammo for Gobert.
Considering how thin the Bulls are in draft capital, it's not hard to buy into the front office expressing interest in such a move. Not to mention, Denver could be an easy trade partner for Arturas Karnisovas, who has plenty of previous connections inside that front office.
The Bulls' interest in Gobert was always believable due to their previously aggressive offseason moves and severe lack of rim protection.
Guys like Zach LaVine (if he stays), DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, Nikola Vucevic, Patrick Williams, and Alex Caruso (if none of them are traded) would look really nice with a guy like Rudy Gobert around them. It would be interesting to see how long it takes them all to win as a cohesive unit.
Gobert has established himself as one of the best defensive players we have ever seen. He has won defensive player of the year 3 times (2018, 2019, 2021), made 6 NBA All-Defensive First Team (20172022) and also is a 3 NBA All-Star (20202022).
This would be very exciting to see him joining the stars of Chicago!
