La Russa spent nine seasons away from baseball before Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf brought La Russa back and gave him the key to a team that had World Series aspirations.
Yesterday, the Chicago White Sox blew a five-point lead to ultimately losing to the Rangers 11-9 after 10 innings. This marks the 9th loss in the last 14 games for the Sox. They now sit third in the AL Central with a win-loss record of 27-30.

Afterwards, he was asked if he anticipates more scrutiny, to which he responded, per The Athletic, «There isn't anything that is happening with this team that at the end, I'm not responsible for. If you don't like the record, it's your responsibility, if you don't like the moves, whatever it is. I've never dodged accountability. And I won't start now.»
