As most fantasy players know, running backs are your best bet when it comes to first round picks. RBs put up the most points, so make sure to draft 1 or 2 early on. Now, as we look at RB options, who should we stay away from?
As a fantasy football player myself, I have made many mistakes when it comes to the draft. In the summer before the 2018 season, I had the 2nd pick in my draft. With this pick, I went with the then Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell. He had a great 2017 season and thought he would help carry my team to a championship. Unfortunately, I was very wrong, as Bell sat out for the ENTIRE season, making this pick a waste, and missing my chance in getting someone who ACTUALLY played.
Because of this, I am always very cautious about rumours in the league in regards to players possibly sitting out. One player who comes to mind is Giants RB Saquon Barkley. He is someone who fantasy players will want in the first round of their draft, but with many rumours about what will happen for the 2023 season, people may want to skip on him.
I will be writing a lot more on fantasy football before the season, but for now, Barkley may be someone you avoid early on in the draft...
