Why Saquon Barkley Could end up with the Bears after Not Agreeing to a Deal with Giants
As reported by NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo, the New York Giants were unable to agree on a long-term deal with star RB Saquon Barkley, as the deadline has now passed.
Now, Barkley can only play with the Giants for one more year on the original deal, due to his franchise tag. However, because Barkley is not pleased with the tag, he may be sitting out this season. Right before the deadline hit, Barkley sent out a tweet showcasing his feelings:
The future with the Giants is looking unlikely for Barkley, so it may be time for teams to start thinking about their own future, and if they want this running back. The Bears are a team in need of a star RB, and Barkley could be the perfect fit.
The Bears have money to spend, so when the times comes, this may be a great move for both parties.
