Just a few days prior to Giants QB Daniel Jones tearing his ACL, the Giants signed former Bears QB Matt Barkley to the practice squad.

Now, after it was announced that Jones will be out for the season, as well as backup QB Tyrod Taylor likely missing time with a rib injury, the Giants have promoted Barkley to the active roster:

Undrafted rookie QB Tommy DeVito is set to start for the team with both QBs out, but it looks like the Giants may make the vet their stater.

Barkley was drafted by the Eagles 10 years ago, and has since bounced around from different teams, including the Bears for one season.

Barkley has experience and looks like the better fit right now, as DeVito still has a lot to learn.

Update: Since writing this, it has been announced that DeVito will start this Sunday against the Cowboys
