WATCH: Caleb Williams Reveals His Reaction to the Bears Trading Fields

Early on this offseason, the Bears made a news breaking announcement that they were trading away QB Justin Fields to the Steelers. With this trade, the Bears made themselves clear that they were going to draft Caleb Williams.
This past week, Williams made an appearance on the "The Pivot Podcast," where he spoke about his college career, the upcoming draft, and his hopes for his first NFL season. During the episode, Williams was asked about his reaction to the Fields trade, where he responded with:
"My phone explodes. Weather it's actual just regular fans or weather it's ESPN...and I pick up my phone and it's going off and I'm trying to figure out what just happened...in that moment I was kind of just like: 'wow'"
Williams was surprised by this announcement due to him not even meeting with the team yet. Since then, he has met with the team, along with many others, but was shocked in the moment.
In under a week, Williams will be a Bear.
