General Manager Ryan Poles praised Amegadjie's abilities following the draft. "You love the tools that he has. His pass protection is really strong. We appreciate his length, his hand usage, and he's a big man who we believe will continue to grow more explosive. This should greatly enhance the competition on our offensive line and elevate everyone's performance," Poles said.
Amegadjie, who underwent surgery last October to mend a partially torn quad sustained during his 2023 season at Yale, will not participate in offseason workouts. While Amegadjie expressed optimism about his recovery, he mentioned that there is no set timetable for his return to the field.
He is the second player from Chicago's 2024 five-player draft class to secure a rookie contract. The team had previously signed punter Tory Taylor during rookie minicamp.
