Montez Sweat has blossomed into the star the Bears desperately need
Montez Sweat came to the Chicago Bears in the middle of the season following a trade with the Washington Commanders.
In his nine games with the Bears, Sweat was able to get six sacks as well as 25 tackles. Moreover, he was able to make it to the Pro Bowl. It was a career-year for Sweat. As The Athletic reports, Sweat has shown that he can be a superstar. In fact, the publication describes him as a superstar that the Bears need right about now.
Overall, the Bears had a not-so-great record last season. Although, had they had better quarterback play, the team would have been close to the top of the standings. Having said that, it has been important for this team to grow on defense. Sweat has been a huge part of that and he appears excited about this new opportunity with a legendary organization. Only time will tell if he can repeat his 12.5 sack performance from 2023.
