Unfortunately, yet another NFL player has been involved in a violent crime. This time, it's the very talented cornerback from the Dallas Cowboys Kelvin Joseph. This is truly breaking news.

Here is a quote from Michael Gehlken and Kelli Smith of the Dallas morning news:

Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph was a passenger in a vehicle from which several gunshots were fired last month, killing a man in the Old East Dallas area, but Joseph was unarmed and did not kill the man, his attorney told the Dallas Morning News on Friday.

Dallas police want to interview Joseph, 22, about his involvement in the death of Cameron Ray, a 20-year-old who was shot early on March 18. Joseph and Ray were out with separate groups of friends. According to surveillance video footage that Dallas police released this week, the groups engaged in an outdoors skirmish around 1:45 a.m. near a nightclub and bar on the 3600 block of Greenville Avenue, at Martel Avenue.

Here are more details reported by Gehlken and Smith:

There is also footage showing that, soon after a fight broke out, a black SUV drove past Ray and his group of friends, and shots were fired from the car. Ray was transported to a hospital, where he died. The footage of the fight will be below.

The Cowboys drafted Joseph, who played at the University of Kentucky in college, in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. He is an extremely talented player that has a very bright future on the football field ahead of him. At least, he had one...

Here is what Joseph's attorney had to say:

«Kelvin Joseph did not shoot Cameron Ray,» Barry Sorrels, Joseph's attorney, said. «Mr. Ray's death is a tragedy, and Kelvin extends his deepest condolences for the family's loss. On the night of March 17, Kelvin was unarmed and was not looking for violence. He found himself in a situation that escalated without his knowledge or consent.

Joseph's lawyer then gave his condolence on his behalf. I have to say that even if his lawyer is right, this is such a horrible look for Joseph. It's safe to say that his future in the NFL is in jeopardy, as well as his future as a civilian...
