Everyone in Bears Nation knows that priority #1 is clearly building the offensive line. With very little draft capital, Ryan Poles will have to do a part of this objective through free agency.
Brian Allen is a very smart player. He is really well-respected by his peers. His biggest strength is his run blocking. His Pro Football Focus grade in 2021 was 80.2, which ranked as the 4th center in the NFL. When you have a solid run-blocker at the center position, you are pretty much always in a great situation. In addition, Allen has a lot of his career ahead of him, given he's only 26 years old. He could help anchor the middle of the offensive line for the next decade.
Of course, a center of his caliber, with his young age will garner a lot of attention and money. The contract he will require is most likely gonna be lucrative. However, he would be worth it. I think it is a very possible signing scenario for the Bears, especially because Allen is born and raised in the Chicago area.
