A warrant for the apprehension of Cincinnati Bengals' running back, Joe Mixon, has been issued in relation to a complaint of misdemeanor aggravated menacing, as per court records. The complaint was lodged on Thursday in Hamilton County, Ohio. The Bengals have acknowledged the charges against Mixon and stated that they are investigating the matter. They declined to make any further comments at this time. The warrant alleges that Mixon pointed a firearm at an individual on January 21st and threatened to "pop" the person in the face.

The altercation took place at the intersection of Walnut Street and East Third Street in downtown Cincinnati, one day prior to the Bengals' victory over the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs. No statement has been obtained from a representative for Mixon at this time.

Mixon was previously charged with misdemeanor assault in 2014 while he was playing as a running back at the University of Oklahoma. He entered into a plea deal and was sentenced to a year of probation and suspended for a season. Mixon was selected by the Bengals in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft and signed a 4-year contract extension worth $48 million in 2020, earning a Pro Bowl nod that same year.
