Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel continued to display his characteristic enthusiasm during his team's game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The AFC champions secured a hard-fought 22-20 victory over their NFC counterparts, which clearly had McDaniel in high spirits.

During one moment, HBO's "Hard Knocks" captured Hall of Famer Dan Marino on the sidelines, meeting with team captains Tyreek Hill, Tua Tagovailoa, and Xavien Howard. Marino encouraged Tua with a spirited, "go get their a-."

Standing behind the players, McDaniel playfully teased Marino while playfully challenging the former QB's records.

"Our captains are truly exceptional players," he remarked. "Wow, look at these outstanding athletes. Yeah, Dan Marino! Forget about your records, Dan. We're gunning for your records, Dan."

However, it's highly unlikely that Tua Tagovailoa will surpass Marino's records this season. Marino holds the franchise records for the most passing yards in a single season, as well as the most touchdown passes with 48. He achieved these milestones during the 1984 season when the Dolphins boasted a 14-2 record and made it to the Super Bowl, where they were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers.

Tagovailoa currently has 4,214 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. To surpass Marino's records, he would need to have two exceptional games.
