The list included anyone who was not picked in the first round, or went undrafted. This list is strictly about the players who were picked from the 2nd round to the 7th, who are considered to be steals of the draft, meaning they became something so much bigger than the team's thought. For example, before this decade, Tom Brady was a draft steal. He was picked in the 6th round of the 2000 draft, making him a player no one really cared for. He then went on to be the GOAT, making him the greatest steal of all time.
In this list, they are just focusing on players from the past decade. Take a look at the list here:
Ranking the 50 biggest NFL draft steals of the past decade
As you can see, many amazing players were steals, such as; Travis Kelce, Derrick Henry, and Tyreek Hill, just to name a few. Most of these guys are very deserving of being on the list, but there was one player who I was expecting to see, but did not. Bears star Eddie Jackson was not featured on the list, and I was surprised by that.
Jackson was drafted in the 4th round of the 2017 draft. He was the 112th pick in the draft, meaning all teams did not see much to him, so he was picked late. Since then, Jackson has gone to 2 Pro Bowls, was a First-Team All-Pro in 2018, and is on the 100 Greatest Bears of All-Time list. How do you not put him on this steal list?
Players like Tee Higgins and Terry McLaurin were featured on this list, yet McLaurin has only been to 1 Pro Bowl, and Higgins has been to 0. These guys have not proven themselves to be steals, while Jackson already has.
Jackson has been and still is one of the best defensive backs in the game, so if ESPN decides to do this list again, make sure to add him!
