With the signing deadline passing, several running backs were unable to make a deal with their team, including current Raiders superstar RB Josh Jacobs.
Jacobs has not reported to minicamp, and may not be seen at all. Jacobs is displeased with the Raiders, as they franchised tagged him, making him unable to secure a high paying contract.
As reported by CBS Sports, they believe that the Chicago Bears could be one of the top landing spots for Jacobs, due to their salary cap and new and improved team.
The Bears have the highest salary cap in the NFL, with $32 million in cap space. Jacobs wants the big bucks, and the Bears can provide him with that. He would become a key member to this team, so the Bears would be willing to invest in him.
The Bears are also one of the teams on the come up, as even though they had an awful 2022 season, they seem to be looking good, with new signings and staff moves. QB Justin Fields looks his very best, and by adding Jacobs, this team will only get better.
Jacobs is clearly not happy with the Raiders, and wants out immediately. The Bears have the chance of acquiring one of the best running backs in the NFL, so hopefully they make a deal soon.
