As reported by Aaron Wilson, the Bears are signing linebacker Buddy Johnson.
Johnson was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2021 draft. He was the 140th pick overall, and signed his 4-year rookie contract soon after. In that 2021 season, Johnson only played in 4 games and made a total of only 2 tackles.
Before the 2022 season, the Steelers waived Johnson. The next week, the 49ers signed him, but he was released only one month later. Then the month after that, Johnson signed with the Texans, but only remained on the practice squad.
Now, Johnson is getting another chance, as the Bears have signed him.
