Bears head coach already seeing improvement from Justin Fields
The Chicago Bears organization as well as the fans have extremely high aspirations for young quarterback Justin Fields. Fields showed flashes during his rookie year but was nowhere close to where he needs to be if the Bears want to have a shot at being competitive in 2022. The new coaching staff has a crucial role to play in Fields development and it started the moment Matt Eberflus entered the building.
Eberflus had pointed out that Fields' footwork was very sporadic last year and had to improve on timing. Both are very important aspects to quarterback play.
During the media portion of Monday, Eberflus mentioned that he already saw improvement in Fields' footwork. This is encouraging because if Fields can take criticism from the coaches and apply it, the sky is the limit for this kid.
The relationship between Eberflus and his young quarterback seems to be pretty strong which is the right way to maximize his potential.
