On that same day, it was revealed by NFL insider Jordan Schultz that the Bears were looking into trading Claypool for a 5th or 6th round pick.
Then, it was noticeable that Claypool was not at the game at all yesterday, and head coach Matt Eberflus told the media that Claypool was welcomed to come. However, other members of the organization explained to the media that Eberflus told Claypool to stay at home, exposing Eberflus for lying.
Today, while on ESPN1000, Eberflus said that Claypool will continue to be away from the team this week, as the Bears will be playing the Commanders this Thursday night:
