In a heartening update, Chicago Bears icon Steve McMichael has shown signs of health improvement following a hospitalization due to a severe infection last week. Misty McMichael, Steve's wife, has shared with the Associated Press the hopeful news that the NFL legend might be discharged and back home by Tuesday.

"He's one tough guy. He's Mongo and his DNA is different! Keep those prayers coming! Thank you!» Misty expressed her optimism and gratitude for the support.

This positive development comes after significant worry surrounding McMichael's health condition. Initially hospitalized on Thursday with what seemed to be pneumonia, it was later identified that McMichael was battling a urinary tract infection. Complications escalated when he contracted a MRSA infection in the hospital, a notorious type of staph infection known for its resistance to many antibiotics. The situation became even more critical with the need for a blood transfusion.

The McMichael family had previously sought prayers for Steve, detailing his emergency hospital visit for suspected pneumonia and promising to provide updates.

This news is particularly uplifting, coming just a week after McMichael was announced as a nominee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, highlighting the resilience and fighting spirit of the Bears legend.

As Steve McMichael continues on his path to recovery, further updates on his health are anticipated in the coming days. The hope is that he will soon be able to return home, continuing to demonstrate the strength and perseverance he's known for.
