After the Bears week 2 loss against the Buccaneers, Bears insider Josh Schrock wrote about his observations from the game:
The 3 main topics included in Schrock's article were
1)
Starting off with the first topic, this loss was the hardest due to the secondary. During the game, both DBs Eddie Jackson and Jaquan Brisker exited the game early. Jackson had a foot injury and Brisker had an illness. Losing both of these players early on in the game set the tone for the 2nd half, and set up the Bears rookie DBs for failure.
Next, the Bears have issues that seem unfixable right now, because when it seems like things lookeed fixed, they begin to break again. After starting off hot, fans thought the Bears were a new team, but after a stellar first drive, they reverted back to their week 1 performances, and the offense continued to decline throughout the game, mainly Fields.
And lastly, the defense could not stop the 3rd down plays this game, causing them to stay on the field longer than what they wanted. The Buccaneers finished the game going 8-for-15 on third down and 1-for-1 on fourth down, showing us that the Bears could not stop them, especially when it meant the most.
This Bears team showed "some" improvement in week 2, but certainly not enough.
