Blasingame joined the Bears on a one-year contract during the previous offseason, becoming the first fullback to join the team since 2018. Although he didn't record any individual stats, he played a significant role in the Bears' success on the ground. Blasingame's blocking was instrumental in opening up running lanes for David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert, which led to Chicago averaging over 150 rushing yards per game and having a sustained rushing attack throughout the season.
