Ian Rapoport just announced that the Bears have signed interior Oline Lucas Patrick from the Green-bay Packers. He will be reuniting with former OC Luke Getsy. The deal is 2 years, $8 million with $4 million guaranteed.

He is at his best at the center position since he is coming off his best year yet at that position. However, he brings versatility and can move to guard if needed at any moment.

In 2021 he allowed 21 pressures and finished third in ESPN's run-blocking win rate measurement. Patrick can lineup at any of the interior positions, in 2020 he was ESPN's sixth-best pass-blocking guard. He has started 28 games in the last 2 seasons and has spent his first five seasons in Green Bay where he started as an undrafted free agent.

This is a much-needed signing for Chicago as they desperately need Oline help in 2022.

Here is a quote from Aaron Rodgers on his former teammate:

"A lot of value when you can plug in a guy at three positions. He's a tough, physical, smart who can be an elite center, I really feel like that. Love the kid."

- Aaron Rodgers

Bears analyst believes he will be the starting right guard in 2022
