"The Chicago Bears and general manager Ryan Pace made a big splash during free agency last year adding lots of weapons for new head coach Matt Nagy. One of those additions was Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl hero Trey Burton. The tight end had an alright first year with the Bears as he started all 16 games and registered 569 receiving yards and six touchdowns, both career highs. However you could tell something was wrong and Burton didn't show up for the Bears playoff game. His absence was explained on Wednesday as he's also been missing from OTA's. Nagy confirmed to reporters that Burton had sports hernia surgery and it was related to the issue at the end of last season.
