In a reaffirmation of its dominance over other North American professional sports leagues, the NFL has once again come out on top in terms of financial value. Forbes' latest 2023 valuations of NFL teams showed the Dallas Cowboys leading the pack with an impressive $9 billion valuation. Trailing behind, but still substantial, the New England Patriots are valued at $7 billion.

But the news doesn't stop there. The combined valuation of all 32 NFL franchises amounts to a staggering $163 billion, nearly equating the total worth of all NBA and MLB teams combined, each of which has 30 teams.

According to Forbes, the average NFL franchise is valued at $5.11 billion. In comparison, the average valuations for NBA and MLB teams are $2.86 billion and $2.32 billion, respectively.

The Golden State Warriors lead the NBA with a $7 billion valuation, while the New York Yankees are MLB's most valuable franchise at $7.1 billion.

The numbers also highlight what a savvy investment Jerry Jones made in 1989 when he purchased the Cowboys for $150 million. Today, the Cowboys are not just the most valuable team in the NFL, but also the most valuable sports franchise in America, by a significant margin.
