As revealed earlier today, the Commanders have fired head coach Ron Rivera:

Before becoming a coach, Rivera was an NFL linebacker, where he played for the Bears from 1984-1992. He was apart of the teams Super Bowl championship in 1986, and then retired from the NFL after the 1992 season while still a Bear.

A few years after his playing career came to an end, Rivera returned to the football word, where he was hired by the Bears as the defensive quality control coach.

He then left Chicago after being hired by the Eagles to serve as the team's linebacker coach, and stayed there for a few years.

Rivera then returned to Chicago once again and served as the team's defensive coordinator from 2004-2006.

He then left, again, and has bounced around to a few different teams, and was able to become a head coach in 2011 as the Panthers HC. He stayed there until being hired by the Commanders in 2020 to be their HC.

Now, the Commanders have fired him, and Rivera is looking to sign somewhere new to serve as a HC.
