The Indianapolis Colts are facing a challenging situation heading into a crucial, must-win game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Colts tight end Drew Ogletree was arrested in Hendricks County, Indiana, on Friday on charges of domestic violence.
According to ESPN reports, Ogletree faces "two level six felonies." One charge is for committing domestic violence in the presence of a child under 16 years old, and the other is for domestic violence resulting in moderate bodily injury.
Ogletree was taken into custody and his mugshot has been released. Details from the arrest suggest that police responded to the incident and found a woman in her bedroom in pain. She alleged that Ogletree had "body slammed" her into the ground during an argument. As a result of her injuries, she was transported to a local hospital.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, and Ogletree's son was reportedly present during the altercation. If found guilty, Ogletree could face up to two-and-a-half years in prison.
The Colts have issued a statement regarding the situation, stating:
"We are aware of the disturbing allegations involving Drew Ogletree. The team takes these matters seriously. We have notified the NFL and are in the process of gathering more information. We will have no further comment at this time."
Ogletree has played in 12 games this season, recording nine receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns. The Colts are currently in the final wild card position with two weeks remaining in the season. They share an 8-7 record with the Texans, Steelers, and Bengals, but currently hold the tiebreaker over all three teams.
