As reported by writer Joseph Duarte, former Raiders cornerback D.J Hayden was tragically killed in a collision in Houston:

Hayden was drafted by the Raiders as the 12th overall pick in the 2013 draft.

Hayden played for the Raiders until his rookie contract expired, as he then signed with the Lions, but only for one year. He then went on to play for the Jaguars for a few seasons, and then ended his NFL career on the Commanders practice squad in 2021.

He finished his career playing in a total of 91 games, making 328 tackles, 46 pass deflections, 4.5 sacks, and 4 interceptions.

We send our condolences to his friends and family.
