Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins appears to be on a remarkable path to recovery following a season-ending Achilles tear he suffered in October. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the 35-year-old QB is surpassing expectations in his rehabilitation, with plans to resume throwing prior to the NFL Combine in the coming month or so. Cousins sustained this injury during the Vikings' Week 8 victory over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Minnesota had a 4-4 record with Cousins, but they struggled to a 3-6 finish without their Pro Bowl quarterback.

In his eight game appearances, Cousins showcased impressive statistics, completing 69.5 percent of his pass attempts for 2,331 yards, 18 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. Surprisingly, the Vikings opted not to extend Cousins' contract last year, despite his role in leading them to 13 wins and an NFC North division championship. If the Vikings choose not to retain him, Cousins will become the most prominent quarterback available in the free agent market.
