The Baltimore Ravens shook up their roster this week with a significant move.
On Tuesday, the team welcomed veteran safety Andrew Adams to the practice squad while parting ways with running back Kenyan Drake to make room for Adams. Drake had only recently rejoined the Ravens a few weeks ago, marking his second stint with the team after initially signing a one-year deal in 2022. During his previous season with the Ravens, he started in five of the 12 games he played, amassing 482 rushing yards with an impressive 4.4 yards per carry and one touchdown.
This season, Drake saw limited action, with a total of only 12 offensive snaps in Week 3 and Week 4. In the game against the Indianapolis Colts, he caught two passes for 31 yards but unfortunately lost a fumble. He did not record any statistics in the team's victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Drake entered the NFL after being part of Alabama's 2015 CFP national championship team and was selected in the third round of the 2016 draft by the Miami Dolphins.
While his time with the Ravens may have come to an end, there remains a possibility that Drake could find a new team before the season concludes. His recent performance in the 2020 season, where he achieved over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and scored 10 touchdowns, highlights his potential value to other NFL teams.
Throughout his seven NFL seasons, Drake has accumulated 3,866 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns on 867 carries. He has also caught 216 passes for 1,639 yards and eight touchdowns in 101 regular-season games. Additionally, he has returned 41 kickoffs for one touchdown, maintaining an average of 23.5 yards per return.
