The Bears are sending a 6th round pick for the 2024 draft, in exchange for Feeney, as revealed by Bears reporter Courtney Cronin:
This trade comes at a perfect time, as injuries have been circling around the OL chart in the past couple of weeks. Bringing Feeney in will help out with OL squad and allow some of the hurt players to heal up, and not rush it.
Feeney spent his college days playing for the Indiana Hoosiers, where he was named to the Freshman First-team All-American in 2012, and the First-team All-American and First-team All-Big Ten in 2016.
After a standout college career, Feeney was drafted by the Chargers in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL draft. In his rookie year, Feeney was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
Even though Feeney has bounced around to a couple of different teams, his performance has stayed consistent. He is able to stay healthy and get the job done on the field. He has been a starting player for the past 3 seasons, and looks to have been able to stay healthy through them all.
Fun fact: Feeney is from Orland Park, Illinois - so welcome home!
